AFTERCARE

TAKING CARE OF YOUR FRESH INK.

Congratulations on your new and beautiful INK! Now it’s your turn - This is where teamwork plays a big role in your HEALED results. Below are the super simple steps to caring for your tattoo.

First 24 hours (applies to lips, eyeliner and brows)

  • Give your new tattoo a cold water splash with clean fingers and pat dry, a few times.

  • BROWS - apply a marker-tip sized amount of the aftercare gel given, evenly throughout the area 1-2x during the day and again before bed

  • LIPS - Apply a thin layer of balm provided every 20-30 mins

  • Shower as normal, however, DO NOT face a hot shower head directly

Brows

  • Continue with a thin layer of gel morning and night with your regular routine

  • Do not pick or rub the area as this can lead to premature shedding

  • Healing will only take 5-10 days (for most) and will go through 3 stages

    • 1st - the colour will be a little more intense initially as the area is freshly worked on and blood is flowing to the area to begin healing. There will be some minor inflammation beneath which will results in a temporary thickening of the area

    • 2nd - brows will begin to shrink and dry out. You may experience some light flaking which is completely normal. DO NOT PICK! Continue with gel morning and night to soothe and hydrate the area.

    • 3rd - The milky phase - Your brows may appear lighter and less vibrant immediately after the shedding phase as the beautiful colour is trapped under layers of dead skin. From this point on and up to 14+ days, you will notice the colour continuously bloom and reveal itself more and more through the newly regenerated skin until your final healed results are reavealed!

Apply SPF daily to protect and extend the life of your beautiful brows.

Lips

  • Continue to apply a thin layer of the balm every 20-30 mins for the next 4-5 days

  • Stay hydrated

    • DAY 1-2 - Colour is more intense and lips may have minor swelling

    • DAY 3-5 - Lips will start to feel dry and tight. This is where you can expect some light shedding to take place (most while you sleep) DO NOT PICK THE AREA!

    • Day 6-10 - The Milky Phase - immediately after shedding, your lip colour may appear very soft and areas may even look to be missing as all the beautiful colour is trapped under layers of dead skin.

    • Week 2-8 - Your lip colour will continue to bloom every single day up until the full 8 weeks. This means areas that once looked like it was missing, will reappear and the colour will continue to intensify and reveal its true depth.

Apply an SPF lip balm daily to protect your beautiful lips and extend the lifespan of your lip blush.
