What is cosmetic tattooing

Also referred to as semi-permanent makeup and micropigmentation; is a skilled process in which pigments are deposited beneath the surface of the skin with very fine sterile needles attached to a manual pen-like tool to create the illusion of hair strokes and makeup to enhance one's natural facial features.

  • If you were on Accutane (acne medication) in the past, you must be off of it for at least 6 months before being getting a procedure done
  • Clients MUST notify me of any previous work done by another artist

What is the difference between microblading and powder blend?

Microblading/feathering - uses a manual pen-like tool consisting of tiny sterile needles that are etched along the skin in fine stroke to implant pigment, creating natural hair stroke patterns under the dermis of the skin.

Powder Blend - uses a tattoo machine to implant pigments, creating a very soft powder-filled look which is ideal and great for those with oily skin types or those who are looking for longer lasting results.

How long does a cosmetic procedure last?

Feathered/microbladed brows will last 1-3 years depending on various factors inlcuding: skin type, lifestyle, and proper care of the treated area. To prolong the length of your desired results even longer, it is recommended that you come in for a maintenance appointment once a year or so.

Powder blend/powder ombré will last 2-5 years depending on the same varying factors listed above as well as the depth of colour used during the procedure (the softer and lighter the appearance, the faster it will fade). NOTE This method is great for those with oily skin types and those looking for longer lasting results.

Eyeliner will last 2-5 + years

Lips will last 2-5 years

How long does it take?

The initial appointment for all procedures (excluding multiple services done at once) are approximatley 2.5 hours, including discussions, the design process and application of a topical anesthetic.

What is the healing process like? Will I be able to go about my day?

Absolutely! The healing process here at INK. is nothing like what you may have seen elsewhere. Immediatley after getting your brows down, you will notice that there isn't any swelling or redness; instead, just a fresh set of fabulous brows. They will appear a little darker and more pronounced than what you're used to as the pigments are fresh, but will lighten throughout the healing process (which can take anywhere from 5-10 days for most people). Rather than a thick and obvious scab, you will experince only a thin layer of dry and flaking skin that will fall off on it's own. NOTE It is very important to not pick or rub at the area during the healing process and to follow the aftercare instructions provided. Failure to do so may affect the end results.

Will my brows fade to blue or green?

Rest assure your brows will not fade to a scary colour. I only use the best pigments offerered in the industry which heal true to colour. Altering of colour only happens with poor quality pigments consisting of black or when an inexperienced artist implants the colour too deep into the skin.

Can you correct or remove my previously tattooed brows?

I do offer correction services, but would require photos to be sent in order to determing the type of work that needs to be done. Results may vary depending on the depth of the previous work along with other factors for each individual.
